The STAR method is tried, tested and time worn. Once upon a time it was fresh and novel, much in the same way as being a perfectionist was an eye catching weakness. Now though, there needs to be an alternative to the STAR method and there needs to be a new method of presenting yourself to make you stand out and get that job. I will work with you to discover your history, your story and build that into something credible that will match you perfectly with the company and the role that you are targeting in a more natural way. The questions will be the same, how the response is framed is the difference.
The interview is going to be stressful enough without having to remember acronyms and how to present them, telling a story is much more natural, much easier and more useful for your new employer.
Stories bring out your personality, allow you to shine and build stronger relationships which is key in a 30-60 minute interview. The interviewer doesn't want to hear another off-pat STAR response, the interviewer want to get to know you. You will be spending a huge amount of time with work colleagues, the interview is a great time to determine compatibility. Stories are a great way to introduce the skils you want to introduce into the response. Stories are a great way for you to start to direct the way you wish the interview to take. Stories put you in a position where you can start to enjoy the interview process.
